Suzanne T. Elie has been an Assistant Professor of Nursing at Farmingdale State College since January 2017. She is currently a Ph.D. candidate at Adelphi University. Ms. Elie has a Master of Science in Nursing from St. Joseph's College in New York. Ms. Elie holds certifications in critical care nursing (CCRN-K) from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, is a certified nurse educator (CNE) through the National League of Nursing, and is practicing as a forensic nurse on Long Island NY-SAFE/SANE. Ms. Elie is an active member of the International Association of Forensic Nurses (IAFN) and the local New York State Chapter of IAFN. As an active member of Sigma Theta Tau International, she has served as the chair of the Governance Committee for Chi Gamma, the local chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International. In addition, she is an active member of the American Nurses Association (ANA) and ANA-New York, where she serves on the Education Committee. Ms. Elie believes that the nursing profession can lead communities to wellness through clinical practice, advocacy, and research. Her research interests include critical care nursing, end-of-life care, nursing ethics, forensic nursing, and victims' rights. Her students and patients are an inspiration for life-long learning.
