Katherine Morales has been a specialist and expert witness in forensic nursing since 2010.
Beginning in 2007 her passion and commitment has been dedicated to the care of victims of
violence, specializing in sexual assault and strangulation. Training under a board certified
physician in child abuse, Dr L. Quinn, she has extensive knowledge of abuse patterns and injury.
Katherine has testified as an expert witness in criminal cases of child abuse, attempted murder,
sexual assault, and strangulation. She holds her Masters degree in Forensic Nursing from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She is board certified in pediatric sexual assault and critical care. Aa a life long educator she has provided lectures, seminars, clinical
instruction, and consultation for Suffolk County emergency medical services at Stony Brook University, Farmingdale State College, and Family Violence and Rape Crisis Center. In Suffolk County, New York, she has cared for over 400 victims of sexual assault, receiving
awards for outstanding service and dedication from the Suffolk County District Attorney's office,
and Family Violence and Rape Crisis Center (Vibes). Currently she is on the Strangulation
response team of Suffolk County, practicing as a forensic nurse examiner and serving the community
to prevent the spread of violence.
