Mrs. Nicole Asay, BSN-SN is a research assistant and nursing student at Brigham Young University College of Nursing. She participates in research with Dr. Julie Valentine and Dr. Leslie Miles focusing on sexual and intimate partner violence. She has contributed to the expanding database of ~8,000 sexual assault cases tracking information from evidence collection through DNA analysis, the largest database of its kind. Nicole also participates with Dr. Marc-Aurel Martial on a project analyzing anemia in pregnant and lactating women in rural Haiti. Upon finishing her BSN, Nicole plans to use the knowledge and experience she has gained to work in a pediatric hematology/oncology unit. She hopes to go on to receive her DNP and become a certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.
