Learning Outcomes:

• the different approaches Law Enforcement and SANEs take when handling survivors of sexual assault, and how that has historically affected the interdisciplinary relationship and ultimately, care of the sexual assault survivor.
• how to respect differences in protocols and methods, while recognizing similarities to find a common ground to strengthen an interdisciplinary relationship in order to provide the best survivor experiences during an investigation.
• strategies to bridge communication gaps to create and nurture an impactful Law Enforcement engagement as part of a SART/ Multi-Disciplinary team for the most effective sexual assault response possible.
