The Federal Communications Commission designated 988 as the new three-digit dialing code that routes callers to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. It was available to everyone across the United States starting on July 16, 2022. In this session, we will examine the real-world impact of the new line (now and projected into the future), the implications for law enforcement and public safety, and what must be done to ensure effective collaboration.
