Travis O. Jones is a Community Outreach and Engagement Officer at Metro Transit Police Department in Washington, D.C. under the leadership of Chief Michael Anzallo. Officer Jones works acutely in the Community Services Bureau, under the direction of manager, Shandha Louis. The Bureau serves as an extension of the Washington Metro Area Transit Authority, serving the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia areas. Officer Jones brings a plethora of experience from the fields of education and mental health, where he has served the community for over 15 years through educational leadership, mental health professionalism, crisis management, alternative education, residential treatment facilities, and restorative justive programming. He has a passion for serving the community through outreach initiaves, enaging with homeless prevention coalitions, youth advocacy, safety and anti-theft awareness initiaitves and safe passage particiaption and coordination. Officer Jones is instrumental in faciliating MTPD's Youth Advisory Council on a monthly basis to allow high school students the opportunity to have a platform to learn, evolve and earn community service credits.
