Katherine is currently the Chief of the Firearms Operations Division and the Chair of the National Crime Gun Intelligence Governing Board within the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, and has served in this capacity since October 2020. Katherine began her ATF career in 2004 as a Special Agent in the San Francisco Field Division, Oakland Field Office and promoted to the Resident Agent in Charge of the San Jose Field Office.
During her time in Washington D.C., Katherine served as a liaison for the Criminal Intelligence Division in the Domestic Terrorism Unit of FBI and several programs within CIA. In 2017, she promoted to the Deputy Chief of ATF’s Criminal Intelligence Division prior to her position as the Assistant Special Agent in Charge in the Los Angeles Field Division in Los Angeles, California. Katherine holds an undergraduate degree from University of Wisconsin in Criminal Justice, a master’s degree from National Intelligence University in Strategic Intelligence, and a PhD from National American University in Strategic Security.
