Mike leads the AFP’s International Command, which plays an important role in combating transnational crime by taking the fight against crime offshore through collaboration with international partners, capacity building missions, contributing to regional stability and responding to international incidents.
Prior to joining the AFP, Mike was the New Zealand (NZ) Police Assistant Commissioner for National Security and International, based in Wellington where he held a wide variety of investigation, intelligence and leadership roles. This included as the NZ Police Liaison Officer to the United States of America, Canada, Central and South America and the NZ Police National Commander for the 2019 Terror Attacks in Christchurch.
Mike is also on the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Board of Directors.
