Shelly works with the WI Department of Justice, Training and Standards Bureau (14 years) as an Educational Consultant. Her main duties are writing curriculum for recruit academy training for Jail Officers, Juvenile Detention Officers, and the Officer Wellness courses in the Law Enforcement and Jail Academies.
Shelly is also on the Wellness committee within DOJ to promote wellness within the workplace and is on a committee created by the International Chiefs of Police (IACP) to create a standard Wellness curriculum for all academies in any state to use.
Shelly previously worked as a police officer in Platteville, WI for almost 12 years and learned some of the stressors of the job. That experience helps her to understand the need for sharing wellness information and techniques to help others.
Shelly holds a BA degree in Criminal Justice from UW-Platteville and a Masters in Organizational Management from University of Phoenix.
