Carabinieri Senior Officer with 42 years of National and International experiences at increasing levels of responsibilities, serving in the full spectrum of police functions and managerial matters, at the strategic, operational and command levels, BG Barbano collaborated with several International Organizations, Police services, and different Governmental Departments.
Currently directing the COESPU, the Carabinieri Center of Excellence for the Stability Police Units, a think tank and a doctrinal hub also devoted to the training of international police officers for the deployment in Peace Operations, mainly under the auspices of the UN, EU, AU, OSCE or ad hoc coalitions, belongs to the IACP and as such, to IMPACT, since 2017.
Police Chair at the Executive Committee of the International Association of Peacekeeping Training Centers (IAPTC).
Past President of European Association of Peacekeeping Training Centers-2016.
