Detective Oscar Carrasco joined the Dallas Police Department in 1997 (25 yrs), in which he was assigned to Central Patrol and in 2002 he transferred to the Gang Unit. Detective Carrasco has been in Gang Unit 19 years and is currently a Detective. While assigned to this department, Detective Carrasco has participated in numerous criminal investigations to include, Murders, Kidnappings, Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Robberies, Organized Crime involving Gang members. Detective was also a Task Force Officer who worked on several federal investigation with the FBI, DEA and ATF for approximately 12 years. Detective Carrasco has testified numerous times for the State and Federal courts as a Gang, Cartel and Narco Culture expert.
