A native of Los Angeles, Aaron McCraney has always kept the “City of Angels” close to his heart. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Management and a Master of Arts degree in Negotiations and Conflict Management. During his Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) tenure, Aaron has worked a variety of patrol assignments serving the Wilshire, Van Nuys, Rampart, Southwest, and 77th Street communities. He additionally has held positions with Traffic Division, Communications Division, Training Division, Personnel Group and the Ombuds Office. However, what set Aaron apart was his expertise and commitment to the recruitment and hiring of police officer candidates for the LAPD. Captain McCraney has served as a sergeant, lieutenant and currently the commanding officer of Recruitment and Employment Division. His dedication to supporting the Department’s strategic plan for maximizing workforce potential has led to operational efficiencies and enhanced service to the community.
