Executive Director
The Push for Change Foundation
Joe Roberts is a mental health advocate. In 1989 he was homeless living under a bridge. Twelve years later he was a celebrated entrepreneur.
Mental health and addiction impacts every one of us. We all face adversity, challenge and change. But not everyone has the resiliency needed to survive life’s toughest days.
Joe openly and transparently talks about his life on the streets and the police interaction that changed his life. Joe’s story is a positive example of one of the millions of police interactions that happen every single day.
When Joe was homeless, he made a promise, if he got a second chance in life, he would pay it forward. In 2017 he finished a 9064 km charity walk across Canada called The Push for Change, all in the name of youth homelessness prevention. This campaign created a ground swell of support from law enforcement and first responders.
Today Joe Roberts (aka The Skidrow CEO) is an award-winning Inspirational Keynote Speaker armed with unwavering determination and 20+ years of speaking experience. His mission is to instigate a ripple effect of positive change everywhere he goes by collapsing the stigma associated with mental health, addiction and homelessness.
Ultimately, Joe’s deep resonating “WHY” is to empower people to step into a life of infinite possibility, to understand “there is truly more to each and every one of us than what we see”.
