Chief Steve Albanese has over 25 years of law enforcement experience with the Pittsburg Police Department. Throughout his career, he has managed Operations and Support Services Divisions, department technology, and Media Relations. He has extensive experience in patrol response, criminal investigations, tactical response, and risk mitigation. He is an advocate for leveraging technology to drive efficiency, accountability, and transparency in policing.
He holds a Master of Arts degree in Leadership and Organizational Studies from Saint Mary's College and a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminology from California State University at Fresno. He is both a graduate and instructor of the California P.O.S.T. Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute as well as a graduate of the California P.O.S.T. Command College and the Federal Bureau of Investigations National Academy.
