Mr. Joshua Ederheimer serves as Deputy Director of the Federal Protective Service at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security since 2017. As such, Mr. Ederheimer is a member of the senior leadership team leading the Training and Professional Development Directorate and Policy, Communications, and Engagement Directorate.
Mr. Ederheimer also worked at the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) Office of Community Oriented Policing Services where he served as Principal Deputy Director and as Acting Director. Prior to working at DOJ, Mr. Ederheimer was the Director of the PERF Center on Force and Accountability.
He also served as the inaugural Senior Law Enforcement Advisor to the First Responder Network Authority as well as the Senior Law Enforcement Advisor at the Office of Tribal Justice at the DOJ. Prior to Federal service, Mr. Ederheimer spent 22 years with the Metropolitan Police Department of Washington D.C., rising to the rank of Assistant Chief. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Justice from American University, and a master’s degree in Management and Leadership from Johns Hopkins University.
