Justin Copling started his career in law enforcement in 2006 at Plano Police Department. Since 2013, he has served as one of the department's Technical Services Officers, where he oversees Patrol technology, including in-car video, body worn cameras, license plate recognition, mobile data computers, and thermal cameras. Justin was instrumental in building the department's body worn camera program, moving it from a motorcycle officer-only program to a department-wide program. He devoloped and conducts all body worn camera training, not only for Plano PD, but also for the local regional police academy. He has also aided in policy development, and has led the agency through three department-wide body camera deployments.
Justin received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems degree from Grove City College and worked as a web developer before making the transition to law enforcement. He resides in Frisco with his wife and four children.
