Chief Rick Scott has over 25 years of experience in police operations and leadership, serving as the Chief of Police for the San Luis Obispo Police Department in California. Chief Scott has a relevant experience in modern and progressive policing to include community engagement, patrol, criminal investigations, narcotics, crisis negotiations, recruiting, professional standards and accreditation. Chief Scott is a graduate of the 46th session of the Senior Management Institute for Police (PERF) and the 248th session of the FBI National Academy. He holds a Master’s Degree in Criminology/Criminal Justice from the University of Texas at Arlington. Chief Scott serves on the executive board as the Vice-Chair for the IACP Law Enforcement Technology Section and is a member of the IACP Computer Crimes and Digital Evidence Committee. Chief Scott has throughout his career worked to improve law enforcement by advancing data sharing, police technology, and community/police collaborations to meet current and future law enforcement challenges.
