Jeffrey Bludworth has been with the Albuquerque Police Department (APD) since April 2012. He is currently a Sergeant over Use of Force Investigations. Over the last ten years Sgt. Bludworth has served as an Advanced Training Instructor for the Albuquerque Police Academy and as Detective for the Crisis Intervention Unit. He was also assigned to the Field Services Bureau for six years. This included working as a Bicycle Patrol Officer. He is also Enhanced Crisis Intervention Certified. In 2019 Sgt. Bludworth became the primary facilitator for the Self-care Interactive Online Network (SCION), a program he co-created with members of APD’s Behavioral Science Section. SCION is a peer support based model that encourages law enforcement officers and other emergency first responders to openly share stories about challenges and trauma they have faced in the careers and how to use healthy coping mechanisms to promote their wellbeing. As the facilitator and co-creator of SCION he plans and facilitates an online monthly meeting of law enforcement across the country. Jeff lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico with his wife Rachel and their four children.
