Corporal Jonathon Boyd is a major crimes investigator for the Utah State Bureau of Investigation. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Political Science from Saint Joseph’s College. His Law enforcement career spans over fifteen years, with experience as an Indiana Conservation Officer, a Utah State Trooper, and investigator. Corporal Boyd has over 3,000 hours in specialized police training ranging from swift water rescue instructor to critical incident management. He is an advocate for mental health in first responders. He is a member of the SBI’s officer involved critical incident response team and investigates those most challenging moments in an officer’s career. Corporal Boyd has responded to and been involved in multiple critical incidents throughout his career. He is a proud member of the Utah Highway Patrol Honor Guard representing the State of Utah across the nation, honoring the fallen and supporting those left behind.
