Brian Unmisig is the Assistant Chief of Police with the Pinellas Park Police Department in Florida. He began his law enforcement career in 1996 and joined Pinellas Park in 1998. Since that time, he has held a variety of field, administrative, and supervisory assignments within the organization. He was selected to join the department’s executive leadership team as a Captain in 2015 and was promoted to Assistant Chief of Police in January of 2022.
Assistant Chief Unmisig earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from St. Leo University and a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Louisville. He is a graduate of the 133rd Administrative Officer’s Course at the Southern Police Institute, Class #19 of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s Senior Leadership Program, and holds the designation of Certified Public Manager from Florida State University.
In his spare time, Brian tries to strike the right balance between faith, family, and career. He just recently celebrated 26 years of marriage to his wife Penny, and together they have three beautiful daughters, and one high energy grandson.
