Philip Schoppmann has 15 years of experience in law enforcement, after a career as a martial arts instructor. He started his law enforcement career in the NYPD, and then transitioned to the Suffolk County Police Department in New York. He served on the peer support team in the NYPD, and helped create the peer support program in his current department, where he currently serves as the PEER Team coordinator. He has prior experience as a firefighter and is currently an EMT. He holds several certifications to teach topics including suicide prevention and intervention skills, mental health support skills, response to crisis/trauma, etc. Philip serves as a peer support development consultant for several law enforcement agencies, as well as a training consultant for various organizations and groups.
