Nick Hurley was hired by the Corvallis Police Department in 2000 as a Police Officer where he spent 14 years working different assignments in the Community Services Division. In 2014, Nick lateraled to the Oregon Department of Public Safety, Standards and Training (DPSST) where he worked as a class coordinator and then promoted to Captain of Academy Training. In 2016 he left D.P.S.S.T. to return to Corvallis Police Department as the Captain of the Professional Standards and Support Services Division and in 2020, he was appointed the Chief of Corvallis Police Department.
Chief Hurley holds a Bachelors degree in Interpreting from Western Oregon University, a Masters of Education from Oregon State University and an Executive Certificate from DPSST.
Chief Hurley is a graduate of the International Public Safety Leadership and Ethics Institute and also a graduate of the F.B.I. National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.
