Jerry started his law enforcement career in 1990 as a Deputy Sheriff for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. In 1992, Jerry was hired with the Thornton Colorado Police Department as a Police Officer. Jerry worked in the Patrol Division as a field training officer, community policing officer, SWAT team operator, and a detective for the regional drug task force. Jerry was promoted to Sergeant in 1999 and assigned to the Patrol Division where he supervised the various shifts, Field Training Program and was the Entry Team Leader for the SWAT Team. As a sergeant, Jerry was assigned to the North Metro Drug Task Force in 2002 where he supervised major case investigation, undercover operations and clandestine lab investigations. Jerry was promoted to the rank of Commander in 2006 and assigned to the Patrol Division where he led patrol shifts, Field Training Officer program, and the Community Policing Team. In 2009, Jerry was assigned as the Commander for the North Metro Drug Task Force and in 2014, Jerry was assigned as the Detective Division Commander. In 2018, Jerry was promoted to the rank of Deputy Police Chief and was assigned to the Patrol Division. Jerry oversaw all facets of the patrol operation to include Field training, SWAT, school resource officers, animal control, traffic enforcement, special operations, and community policing efforts. Jerry took over the Administration Division in 2020 where he currently oversees all recruitment and hiring, training, the emergency communication center, internal affairs, audit and inspections, records, and the technology unit. Jerry is a graduate of the FBI National Academy class #282, PERF – SMIP and Northwestern University of Police Staff and Command. Jerry has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice and a Masters of Science degree in Management.
