Jason Kuzik has 25 years of experience in law enforcement with the Henderson Police Department in Southern Nevada and the Lewiston Police Department in Idaho. He has enjoyed a variety of assignments from patrol, field training officer, investigations, computer forensics, SWAT, and crisis negotiations prior to promotion through the supervisory ranks that began in 2011. Recently, Jason retired from the Henderson Police Department as a captain and was sworn in as the Chief of Police for the City of Lewiston on 10/04/2022. Jason has taught several courses over the years at the HPD police academy that have included financial crimes, SARA projects, and civil liability. He was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, and obtained his undergraduate and master's degree in criminal justice from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He enrolled in the master's thesis track and his research paper titled Police Use of Force and Officer Injury: A Closer Examination of the Impact of TASER Deployment and Contextual Factors was published when he graduated in 2019. He has been married to his wife Sandy for 23 years and they have one son who is in college.
