Danny Murphy has overseen the implementation of extensive police reform consent decrees in New Orleans and Baltimore and now consults with organizations across the country to improve policing. Danny led wide-ranging police reform initiatives at the Baltimore Police Department as the Deputy Commissioner over the Compliance Bureau from April 2019 to July 2021 under Commissioner Michael Harrison. In this capacity, he oversaw consent decree implementation, policy, training, technology, equity, and audits and inspections. Before joining the Baltimore Police Department, Danny served as New Orleans Police Department's Deputy Superintendent over the Compliance Bureau, leading the implementation of sweeping organizational change as part of another federal consent decree. Danny joined NOPD in 2014 as a compliance manager before assuming the role of Deputy Superintendent in August 2016. Danny holds an MBA from the University of New Orleans and a BA from Georgetown University in Political Economy and English. Danny is from New Orleans, Louisiana.
