Sergeant Jay Riggen is a 17-year veteran with the Vermont State Police. His current duty assignment is in the Special Operations Unit with specialized focus on traffic safety and impaired driving initiatives. Jay has been used as a subject matter expert in the development and design of improving workplace communication and conflict management course curricula for the Community College of Vermont (CCV). He has served as CCV adjunct faculty (teaching courses in Effective Speaking, Conflict Resolution, and Intercultural Communication) where he received the 2018 CCV staff and student-nominated “Teaching Excellence Award.” Jay has received numerous awards and recognitions for his dedication to highway safety enforcement and education.
