Larry A. Jones II joined the City of Cleveland Department of Public in July 2010 as a Project Manager and quickly rose to the titles of IT Program Manager and currently Assistant Commissioner. Mr. Jones is responsible for overseeing the Public Safety IT Staff and all Applications and Infrastructure which supports the Divisions of Animal Care and Control, EMS, Fire, Police and Office of Professional Standards.
Mr. Jones works with the Divisions to shape their IT Strategic Plans and the implementations of their mission critical systems which include the 800 MHz APCO Project 25 Digital Trunked Radio System, Safe Smart CLE – Citywide Video Surveillance Program, Body Worn Cameras, Automated Vehicle Location System, Computer Aided Dispatch, and Police Records Management System.
Mr. Jones has supported many special events and EOC activations including the 2016 Cleveland Cavaliers Championship Parade, 2016 Republican National Convention, 2019 MLB All Star Game, 2021 NFL Draft and 2022 NBA All Star Weekend.
A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Mr. Jones has an MBA from Cleveland State University, and is a Certified Project Management Professional.
