Captain Jay Draisin is currently assigned as the Division Commander of the Orlando Police Department Crime Center and Forensics Division. He has 28 years of law enforcement experience, beginning his career with the Tallahassee Police Department and working as a Research and Training Specialist for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. He currently has 22 years with the Orlando Police Department, where much of his career has been in investigative positions as both a detective and a supervisor, including the supervisor of the Homicide Unit during the Pulse Nightclub Mass Murder. He has held positions within the Orlando Police Department Patrol Division, Criminal Investigations Division, Training Section, TAC Section Commander and the Hostage Negotiation Team as a Team Leader. In 2019 he was assigned to research, develop, and implement the Orlando Police Department Crime Center. The Crime Center began with 3 people assigned under the Criminal Investigations Division. The Orlando Police Department Crime Center is now part of a separate Division within the Department, staffed by 52 people within the Crime Center and Forensics Sections.
