Deputy Chief Thomas Castro has served the Dallas Police Department for 26 years and has had supervisory roles in Patrol, Internal Affairs, Criminal Investigations, Metro Task Force, and currently the commander over Tactical Investigations, which includes, Vice, Narcotics, Fugitive, and the Gang Unit. While over Criminal Investigations Deputy Chief Castro implemented strategies that helped the Homicide Detectives improve the clearance to 80% and 81% in the two years, he commanded Criminal Investigations. Deputy Chief Castro takes an active role in his assignments and takes time to observe training and operations in the field.
