Aaron Sparling is a Network Intrusion Forensic Analyst (NIFA) with the United States Secret Service, assigned to the National Computer Forensics Institute. Aaron spent over seventeen years as an Officer with the Portland Police Bureau in Portland Oregon where he served in the Investigations Branch, Forensics Evidence Division, Digital Forensic Unit. Aaron has been working in Digital Forensics for over 10 years and has served as a Task Force Officer on the United States Secret Service Electronic Crimes Task Force and the Portland FBI Cyber Crimes Task Force. Aaron serves as the proceeding chair for Digital Forensics Research Workshop (DFRWS) and served as the Chair of the Technical Advisory Council for the US Secret Service National Computer Forensics Institute (NCFI). Aaron has presented at numerous digital forensics conferences including the National Cybercrime Conference, MAGNET User Summit, SANS DFIR Summit, HTCIA, and CACTUSCON. Aaron has conducted webinars for SANS, MAGNET Forensics, and CTRL-ALT-DEL. Aaron currently holds a GIAC GREM, GIAC GFCA, GIAC GFCE, GIAC GSEC, CFCE, MCFE, and Certified Blacklight Examiner.
