Cynthia M. Deitle, JD, LLM, is the Director, Associate General Counsel of the Civil Rights Team at Meta where she helps build products and policies by advancing principles of fairness and equity. Prior to joining Facebook, she served as the Director of Civil Rights Reform at the Matthew Shepard Foundation and led their hate crime enforcement training program for law enforcement officers and prosecutors. Deitle retired as a special agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation after serving for 22 years specializing in civil rights, particularly in the fields of hate crimes, police abuse and misconduct, community outreach, and victims’ rights. Deitle served for four years in the Civil Rights Unit and was promoted to Chief where she managed the FBI’s Civil Rights Cold Case Initiative. She served as a Supervisor in the Boston Division and finished her career in Knoxville. Deitle earned her BA from The Ohio State University, her JD from New England Law Boston, a Master of Laws degrees from New York University School of Law and George Washington University National Law Center. She is licensed to practice law in Florida, Massachusetts, the District of Columbia, and Tennessee.
