Dr. Stewart is a police, forensic, and organizational consulting psychologist. He received his doctorate in clinical psychology with an emphasis in forensic science and practice from Pacific University. He worked for the NYPD and taught at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. He still teaches graduate level psychological assessment. He is board certified in police and public safety psychology and works in private practice, regualrly providing assessment and consultation services to hundreds of government and private organization across the U.S. He engages in research and development in the area of police selection tools and techniques and received from APA a research award for this work. He has coauthored pubished works on police officer screening, the effectiveness of multicultural training in police academy, and police misconduct and violence. He served on the IACP and Oregon Ethics Committees. He was the President of the American Academy of Police & Public Safety and Chair of the APA Police & Public Safety Section. He reveived from APA an early career achivement award in police and public safety psychology. He is the past Chair of IACP PSS Diversity Committee.
