Dudley Massachusetts Police Chief Steven Wojnar received his master’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Western New England College (Springfield, Mass.) in 2001. He served his entire 34-year police career with the Town of Dudley. He began in 1988 as a part-time officer and dispatcher. He was promoted to full time officer in 1990, sergeant in 2002, and Police Chief in January of 2003. He is active in community policing programs, particularly with the local schools and senior organizations. Since being promoted to Chief, he has been involved in many cases, including homicide investigations and the first-ever Amber Alert in Massachusetts, back in in 2003. He is the Past President of the Central Massachusetts Chiefs of Police from 2012, and former State President for the Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Association in 2018. Currently, he serves as Co-Chair of the Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Legislative Committee as well as other positions within the organization. He has served as an Adjunct Professor in the Criminal Justice Program at Nichols College in Dudley since 2009 and is a 2016 inductee into the Grafton Massachusetts High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
