George J. Fachner is a senior program manager with the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS Office) with 15 years of experience in criminal justice program management, policy, and research. He currently oversees a portfolio of technical assistance programs, community policing demonstration projects, and training grants. In 2019, George was selected to serve on the leadership team for the President’s Commission on Law Enforcement and the Administration of Justice, guiding the work of five working groups composed of federal staff, federal, state, and local law enforcement officials, and experts from across the country. Prior to joining DOJ, George was a research scientist with CNA Corporation, where he led, designed, and managed several national research and technical assistance programs, organizational assessments, and critical incident after action reviews. He is a a graduate of the DOJ Leadership Excellence and Achievement Program. George holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from City University of New York and a master’s degree in Justice, Law, and Crime Policy from George Mason University.
