E. "Paul" Bertrand is a retired FBI Supervisory Special Agent, and he currently works as a Military Community Development Consultant for LivingWorks Education, where he assists military installations and government agencies in developing and implementing suicide prevention training programs. He is a Master Trainer in both the LivingWorks ASIST and LivingWorks safeTALK Suicide Intervention Training Programs. In 23 years in the FBI, Paul served in a variety of roles in the Los Angeles Field Office, the Washington D.C. Field Office, and the FBI Academy at Quantico, Virginia. He started as a Special Agent and spent a total of 13 years investigating white collar crime and supervising a squad of white collar crime investigators. He spent a total of 5 years as an FBI National Academy Instructor, and as an instructor for new agents and analysts. In his last role prior to retirement, he served as the Regional Program Manager for the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic in the FBI's Employee Assistance Unit. He holds a BA in Biology from the University of Rochester, a MSEd in Counseling from Old Dominion University, and a Positive Psychology Practitioner Certificate.
