Integrating wellness concepts early in an officer’s career can improve officer retention, performance, and quality of life. During this session, presenters will share actionable strategies on how to teach cadets and entry-level officers to understand, identify, and learn healthy strategies for their physical, mental, financial, and family health to ensure their longevity from the time they start the academy to the time they retire.

This session will address how to teach cadets and young officers to identify signs of health and suicide risks within themselves and their fellow officers and how to seek help if needed. In addition, presenters will share strategies for implementing wellness metrics to assess officer health and wellness efforts.
