This presentation will discuss the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC)’s approach in developing law enforcement professionals as critical decision makers in use-of-force situations and the Georgia Bureau of Investigations (GBI)'s adaptation of the approach to develop practical, science-based, use-of-force training. The program highlights the cooperation of FLETC and GBI in the development of law enforcement professionals who can make objectively reasonable force choices.
