Program Manager, Analytical Services Division The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, United States
Join the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) for an overview of the attempted abduction program, including case examples that illustrate how the information collected can assist law enforcement with missing child investigations. Attempted abductions, short-term abductions with or without a sexual assault component, sexual assault without abduction, indecent exposures, and suspicious incidents are failed crimes from which we have the opportunity to learn in the efforts to protect children from going missing. NCMEC is in the unique position to collect these incidents on a national scale and, for the last 15 years, have been receiving reports from law enforcement. NCMEC tracks these incidents to identify patterns and provide technical assistance and resources to law enforcement.
