Human trafficking can be difficult to detect and involves cross-cutting crimes that pose threats to public safety. Executives drive how their organization, personnel, and community work together to implement a whole of department approach. The Office of Justice Programs’ multidisciplinary task forces demonstrate the importance of collaborating with victim services partners and survivors and providing more training department-wide (i.e., narcotics, gang units.) Next-gen strategies build upon lessons learned over the last 20 years.
