An oath is a solemn pledge based on personal honor, but the IACP Oath of Honor is more than a pledge. It is a guide for fundamental leadership that can help leaders do a better job of managing themselves and their employees. Using the oath as a guide, this presentation will provide attendees with practical strategies for improving employee trust and commitment by creating a work environment where everyone is treated with dignity and respect. The presentation will show how those improvement efforts can help leaders more effectively accomplish their agency’s mission. As accountability is a key element of the oath, and accountability is more important now than ever, practical strategies for maintaining accountability at every level of their agency will be provided to attendees.
