Many times, hazmat incidents can feel like a no-win situation. This may be due to lack of knowledge (easily corrected), lack of command direction (easily corrected) or lack of experience (not easy to acquire). The Kobayashi Maru within the Star Trek series was used as a simulation to test cadets’ ability to stay clam during intensely stressful conditions, to base decision making upon rapidly changing information and choose the value of ethical outcomes. The problem can be further compounded by the fact that officers and commanders frequently blame themselves for not achieving a self-perceived result.
In this session we will explore a situation which will present a variety of issues that have to be addressed in a timely manner. The concept is to give the participant the experience of an immersive simulation. This ultimately fills the third component of what seems to be a no-win situation. Come join us for this immersive session on monitoring, leadership, communication, and tactical outcomes to name a few.
