The session will explore various applications and technologies available to responders to better understand the dynamics in the environment they are working. In addition to specific HazMat monitoring devices, the session will review various developments within the Nationwide Public Safety Broadband Network that can aid in HazMat releases. These include LMR-LTE integration, LTE push-to-talk and Location-Based Services. In addition to providing an overview of the technologies, the session will include use cases to provide real-world applications of the technologies.
The session will end with an open discussion of the gap in current technologies for the HazMat responder and how future FirstNet investments may reduce this gap. This discussion will include devices and form features for use by field responders.
