This session will take a look at the rise of illicit drug manufacturing and the roles and responsibilities of local HazMat responders when responding to clandestine drug labs. An open discussion on the special skills and training necessary to safely navigate an illicit drug lab incident will allow participants and opportunity to conduct a hazard and risk assessment from actual clandestine lab incident case studies.
Learning Objectives:
The participant will be able to identify an illicit drug lab and the various safety factors that need to be considered and/or implemented as a hazmat responder.
The participant will be able to identify the unique challenges hazmat responders face when dealing with an illicit drug lab.
