Get prepared to handle anhydrous ammonia incidents by learning the types of ammonia release phases that could be encountered and how they can act. We will examine real life release modeling and live release footage. Review of control and containment tactics from both offensive and defensive perspectives. Some selected case histories (“tales”) will be examined and reviewed. Session will review common ammonia processes, e.g. refrigeration, power plant use, and others as well as containers and selected transportation packaging. Followed by Students receiving valuable hands on training with an ammonia cargo trailer (MC-331). Get a terrific combo of both lecture and hands on training.
Learning Objectives:
Obtain knowledge to make risk based response decisions and determine response tactics involving an ammonia incident, based on ammonia’s characteristics, type of releases, and an assessment of the event.
Obtain knowledge in order to implement basic control and containment options for anhydrous ammonia.
Understand the configuration, recognition, identification, and trouble shooting incidents with containers as well as highway transportation containers and support resources available.
