Dr. George Stefopoulos is a Solar Innovation Technical Advisor for the U.S. Department of Energy, Solar Energy Technologies Office (SETO). He joined SETO as a support service contractor in September 2021 and works with the Manufacturing and Competitiveness team focusing, among other areas, on power electronics for solar applications, grid integration, and building- and vehicle-integrated photovoltaics. Prior to joining SETO, George was with the New York Power Authority (NYPA) for over 12 years where he held multiple positions of increasing responsibility. George received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2009. He also received his M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2002 from Georgia Tech and his Diploma in the same field from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece, in 2001. George also holds an MBA degree from Pace University of New York – Lubin School of Business since 2015.
