LEED Specialist

Karema Seliem is a LEED Specialist and Resilience Subject Matter Expert on the LEED Technical Development team at the U.S. Green Building Council in Washington, D.C. Karema has extensive experience in green building design and environmental policy. In her current role at USGBC, Karema facilitates discussions amongst LEED Committees and oversees technical development of the Sustainable Sites, Water Efficiency, and Integrative Process credit categories of the LEED green building rating systems. Karema also provides technical support for social equity and resilience strategies within the LEED Pilot Credit Library. Karema began her career in 2012 working as an interior space planner and project architect at the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Engineering and closed out her experience in Philadelphia working at the Penn Sustainability office. Karema holds an MES from the University of Pennsylvania, concentrating in Environmental Policy, and a BS in Interior Design from Drexel University.
