Andrew Snowhite is a Sustainability and Strategy executive with 20 years of global experience fostering business growth through innovating scalable green and blue initiatives across the built environment, real-estate, and consulting sectors. He shapes material risks into strategic ESG opportunities, scales multistakeholder programs through partnerships, and leverages environmental assets to strengthen brands.
As a Senior Advisor to APCO Worldwide, he influenced sustainable coastal development and built advisory boards for the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia’s ‘giga-projects,’ including the new $500B region NEOM. He has advised Dentons, NewCities, and USGBC regarding green building, smart cities, and healthy communities and was recently named a WELL City Advisor for the IWBI.
Andrew was entrusted twice by the U.S. Department of State to lead public-private-partnerships to fund and tell America’s sustainability and public diplomacy stories at Expo 2012 in South Korea and Expo 2017 in Kazakhstan. He served as SVP and Chief Innovation Officer at Gale International, the master developer of the new South Korean smart and green city, Songdo, and co-founded an environmental consulting firm with his longtime friend and colleague Philippe Cousteau. Earlier in his career he was a music industry executive. He has engaged or partnered with diverse organizations and clients including Boeing, Chevron, Citi, Coca-Cola, GE, Flour, Hyundai, Monterey Bay Aquarium, Ocean Conservancy, Revolution, The Rolling Stones, and Samsung.
As a recognized leader in sustainability and global business, Andrew has been interviewed by media outlets including CNN, Discovery Channel, and EuroNews, and spoken at events such as SXSW eco and USGBC’s Greenbuild.
Andrew holds a Master of Natural Resources as well as a graduate certificate in Global Sustainability from the Center for Leadership in Global Sustainability at Virginia Tech and a B.A. in Environmental Science from University of Virginia, where he was a National Science Scholar. He is also an accredited LEED Green Associate.
An avid scuba diver, Andrew has been acknowledged in journals such as National Geographic Science and Exploration for his underwater fieldwork with the “Shark Lady” Dr. Eugenie Clark in places like Egypt, Mexico, and Papua New Guinea, and was a grand prize winner of the Bonaire Dive Festival underwater photography contest.
