Billie guides firm-wide, project-based research initiatives at KieranTimberlake to achieve ambitious outcomes for people and the environment while constructing award-winning, high-performing buildings. As the firm’s Research Director, she oversees a transdisciplinary group of professionals who investigate materials, systems, and processes. Her work ranges from field studies like Designing the 21st Century Ger; designing and detailing prefabricated construction systems like Ideal Choice Homes; and developing custom applications like Tally®, a BIM-integrated life-cycle assessment application. Billie serves as the 2022 Chair of AIA COTE, 2023 Panel Chair for UIA's Design for Climate Adaptation Science Track, and a member of the Board of Directors for Building Transparency. In addition, Billie is an architectural educator and Adjunct Professor in the Environmental Building Design program and the Robotics and Autonomous Systems program at the Weitzman School of Design, University of Pennsylvania. Billie is the 2017 recipient of Architectural Record’s Women in Architecture Innovator Award.
