Toxics Reduction Program Manager

Jen Jackson manages the Toxics Reduction & Healthy Ecosystems Program at the San Francisco Department of the Environment. She and her team lead a variety of programs and implement policies that reduce the use of toxic chemicals to improve environmental and human health. These initiatives include an innovative green purchasing program, an award-winning integrated pest management program, the San Francisco Green Business Program, an urban biodiversity program, and an extensive residential household hazardous waste disposal program.
Prior to joining San Francisco in 2015, Jen worked in wastewater and stormwater pollution prevention for public agencies, and began her environmental career in the non-profit sector at Sierra Club and Save The Bay. Jen earned her master’s degree in Geography, Resource Management & Environmental Planning and her thesis focused on sources of endocrine disrupting chemicals in wastewater.
