Brenda has worked in the building industry for over 30 years as a practitioner, educator and advocate in the field of regenerative building. She has served the community in a number of roles, including being a member of the Board of the Cascadia Green Building Council, and faculty with the CaGBC and UBC. She currently teaches sustainability, green building and Design for Disassembly (DfD) for the BC Institute of Technology. In 2018 she was appointed to the Order of British Columbia for her contributions to sustainability in the building industry.
Brenda has worked on commercial, residential, industrial and institutional projects throughout the province and was involved in the design and construction of many signature green projects, including the Vancouver Olympic Village (LEED Gold/Platinum certified), the Whistler Athletes’ Village, Okanagan College Centre of Excellence (Living Building Petal Candidate, LEED Platinum certified), and over 20 affordable housing projects in various communities across BC.
